Project Pink: Help Us Find a Cure for Breast Cancer

Written by SIAA staff | Oct 20, 2021 4:08:00 PM

SIAA is hosting its third fundraiser for breast cancer awareness, following up on last year’s successful donation drive. Breast cancer research is a cause very close to our hearts, and it has touched the SIAA family more than once: some of our staff and members have lost family members to it, and some are survivors themselves.

Since we know both ends of the breast cancer experience, we founded the SIAA Project Pink in 2019. It’s a fundraiser for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) and The IBC Network, to honor our lost friend Lori Kunz. This money will help fund additional research to find a cure and spread awareness for inflammatory breast cancer. We chose these charities carefully; they are both highly rated charities with almost all the money going directly to research and awareness.

We’re fundraising again this year, and we invite everyone to participate! We will be matching donations up to $5,000.

If you want us to match your donation, please follow these 3 steps:

  1. Make your donation at one of the links below:

  1. Take a screenshot of the receipt

  2. Send it to us at scott@siaaz.com and we'll match it!

Every little bit helps! Please consider supporting the millions of men and women who are fighting this disease, and let’s all support research to find a cure!

More About BCRF

In 2019-2020, BCRF awarded $66 million in annual grants to nearly 275 scientists from top universities and medical institutions around the globe.

In addition, BCRF has established a multi-year international program dedicated to metastasis that is the first large-scale global effort to unravel the biology of metastasis, with more than $30 million earmarked to date. It is the largest privately funded project exclusively focused on metastasis in the world. But we still have more to do.

More About The IBC Network

What is IBC? A working definition: Inflammatory Breast Cancer (IBC) is a rare and very aggressive disease in which cancer cells block lymph vessels in the skin of the breast. This type of breast cancer is called “inflammatory” because the breast often looks swollen and red, or “inflamed.”

Our mission:

  • To fund research regarding Inflammatory Breast Cancer.

  • To provide an avenue to network proactive education to the general population as well as the medical community regarding Inflammatory Breast Cancer.
