John is a native of San Diego where he was born and raised. John attended Grossmont College in El Cajon where he got his A.A. degree and then went on to attend San Diego State University to study Business Administration & Management. With 33 years of experience in the insurance industry, John has worked within most insurance platforms and sectors including Retail, Excess and Surplus, Wholesale Brokerage, Managing General Agent, Managing General Underwriter, Programs, Reinsurance, Facultative Reinsurance, and Insurance Carriers. Experience acquired spans sales, marketing, brokerage, underwriting, management, training and employee development, and product development. In 2006-08, John fell in love with Arizona while working for QBE Insurance in Phoenix and eventually decided to move here in 2016. John enjoys helping our members in all sectors of insurance, working with co-workers as a team to achieve our members’ dreams, and turning new agents into educated and productive independent agents. Hobbies include collecting, propagating, and caring for succulents, cacti, euphorbias, epiphyllum, aloes, agaves, and hoyas. In his spare time, he enjoys exploring Arizona’s geological and botanical wonders, continuing his search for the best Mexican food, and cooking & baking for his family.
